Jim Moran is a keyboardist, vocalist, composer, and teacher from Hermitage, PA. He has been a professional musician since 1972, primarily as a keyboardist and vocalist, performing in venues across Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Over the last several years, Jim has gone solo. His repertoire includes instrumental and vocal stylings ranging from Jazz & Blues Standards, to Classic Rock as well as Original Compositions. See it for yourself, on the navigation menu. As a private piano instructor, Jim brings his vast knowlege of musical styles, music theory, improvisation, and composition, well into focus. Besides being a classically trained pianist, he majored in Theory and Composition at The Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University. His teaching style is fresh, informative, and most of all, encouraging to students of all ages (Yes, even adults). In addition to his more serious compositions, he has written several "student oriented" collections; A TOUR OF SPAIN, AN AMERICAN STANDARD :JAZZ & BLUES, and SMALL WONDERS, all for Intermediate Solo Piano.
